"We have been camping at the Red Barn Campground for many years. We love the campground and surrounding community; the lake is a quick walk away and is clean, clear and wonderful for fishing or swimming; there is a great grocery store and antique store in Shell Lake, only 5 minutes from the campground. The campground owners/hosts are so friendly and accommodating! There are so many family oriented activities for the entire family including mini-golf, hayrides, small animal parades, bunny petting, and gathering eggs from the chicken coop. If you are looking for a clean, safe and family friendly campground - this is it!"
"It’s a place to let your children run and you can sit and relax. There is so much to keep the kids busy. You walk a little to the clear lake and swim for free and look for shells. Different animals to feed, playground for the little ones. The couple who runs the place very accommodating. I forgot a pan she cooked eggs for me. I am going again this year."
"Great campground for family fun. Lots of activity in a country setting or quiet wilderness camping. Friendly owners, kids loved the farm like setting for the activities like horse wagon rides, mini golf, and unique rec room in large barn loft. trails with different setting and the park. We also loved being away from all the campers as we opted for the wildness setting as we tent. Plenty of privacy, remote feeling, but with easy access to kid fun too. Quiet time was respected after the 11 pm hour, great night sleep under the stars."
"We enjoyed our long Memorial weekend at this campground. Went with extended family so weren't looking for much to do. There really aren't many activities at the campground itself to do. There is a playground which we happened to be adjacent to. And the kids could do horse rides and get eggs from the chicken. Otherwise just a quiet and relaxing weekend. We had 3 pop-up sites that were kind of off on our own which was nice but the rest of the campground has the RVs pretty much right after another. Some of the outside sites are better. We camped here in a Tent Trailer."
"My kids had a great time! This would be the perfect campground for the city kids. They have animals to pet and sometimes ride. Everyone is very friendly. No swimming pool, but the beach is just down the road. We camped here in a Travel Trailer."
"We really enjoyed this RV Park. The owners/hosts are great folks and work hard to make sure their guests have a good time. We like it because the park is a working farm on over 250 acres. Lots of trails, lots of farm animals, fresh eggs, fresh produce, and anything else you can think of from farm. The area is great... make sure to stop by the Hunt Hill Sanctuary. We camped here in a Fifth Wheel."
"Camped here with our 3 year old and she had a wonderful experience. The owners go out of their way to make sure the kids have a good outdoor experience and interaction with the animals. They have horses, lamas, rabbits and chicks. The kids get to collect eggs from the chicken coop, pet the animals, help brush the horses & llamas and ride the horses (with the owner leading them around the campground). They do charge extra for the horse rides and the horse drawn wagon rides, but well worth it! We will definitely return here. We camped here in a Travel Trailer."
